Full Disclaimer, Risk Acknowledgment & Participation Agreement

1. Scope of Services: Education & Coaching – Not Medical Care, Therapy, or Substance Provision

The Psychedelic Life Plant Medicine Microdosing Coaching Program, operated by Confluence Retreats, Hi-U Foundation ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), offers educational, coaching, and harm-reduction-oriented guidance related to personal development practices that may include discussion of microdosing frameworks drawn from various plant, fungal, and psychedelic research traditions. We do not provide clinical diagnosis, medical treatment, psychotherapy, or emergency care. Participation does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, or attorney–client relationship with any facilitator, coach, or representative of the Company.

We Do Not Provide or Facilitate Access to Substances

  • We do not sell, ship, supply, handle, store, cultivate, extract, synthesize, transport, or otherwise provide any controlled substances, plant materials, fungi, analogs, or precursor chemicals.

  • We will not connect you to underground guides, illegal suppliers, or unregulated retreats.

  • Any decision you make to obtain or use any substance is made independently, at your own initiative, risk, and responsibility, and must comply with the laws that apply to you.

2. Legal Status Varies: You Are Responsible for Knowing & Obeying Your Local Laws

Many psychoactive plants, fungi, and compounds (including but not limited to psilocybin-containing mushrooms, mescaline-containing cacti extracts, ayahuasca admixture plants, iboga/ibogaine, DMT-containing preparations, LSD, MDMA, 5-MeO-DMT, and certain synthetic analogs) are controlled substances in many countries, states, provinces, and municipalities. Legal and regulatory status changes frequently.

You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the laws, regulations, and policies in your jurisdiction(s) of residence, travel, and participation. Nothing provided by the Company should be interpreted as a statement that any activity is legal, risk-free, endorsed, or advisable. For legal questions, consult a qualified attorney licensed where you live.

3. Medical & Mental Health Disclaimer

All content (video, audio, written materials, group calls, email, chat, and any other format) is for informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek advice from your physician, licensed mental health professional, or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, medications, supplement interactions, mental health status, or suitability of any contemplative or self-experimentation practice.

Do Not Ignore or Delay Care

Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read, heard, or experienced through The Psychedelic Life Plant Medicine Microdosing Coaching Program. If you believe you may be experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, call emergency services immediately.

Medication & Interaction Risks

Some psychoactive or plant substances (legal or illegal) may interact dangerously with prescription medications (e.g., SSRIs, MAOIs, blood pressure medications), supplements, or underlying medical conditions (e.g., seizure disorders, bipolar spectrum conditions, psychosis risk, cardiovascular disease and death). Health and Safety screening is a required pre-requisite to participate in The Psychedelic Life Plant Medicine Microdosing Coaching Program, however omission or incomplete information on the part of the Client can put the Client at risk. We do not screen for all such risks and cannot ensure safety.

4. Coaching vs. Clinical Care – Understanding the Difference

Coaching with The Psychedelic Life Plant Medicine Microdosing Coaching Program focuses on education, preparation, intention-setting, reflective tracking, integration of insights, lifestyle alignment, mindfulness training, and self-regulation skills. Coaching may support you in evaluating whether to explore microdosing where lawful and medically appropriate, but we do not:

  • Diagnose or treat medical or psychiatric conditions.

  • Prescribe, adjust, or discontinue medications.

  • Provide psychotherapy, counseling, or crisis intervention.

  • Provide medical clearance for psychedelic use.

If you need any of the above, you must work with an appropriately licensed provider.

5. Harm Reduction Orientation (Informational Only)

Where educationally relevant, we may discuss general harm-reduction principles (e.g., dose titration frameworks reported in research, journaling effects, set & setting considerations, relative contraindications flagged in published literature). Such discussion is informational only and not a recommendation that you ingest any substance. Harm reduction does not eliminate risk. Application of any concept is solely your choice and responsibility.

6. No Outcome Guarantees

We make no guarantees—express or implied—about personal growth, symptom relief, performance, creativity, mood, spiritual insight, or any other outcome. Results vary and are influenced by many factors outside our control, including personal health status, environment, adherence to practices, and legal access pathways.

7. Age, Capacity & Eligibility

Participation is limited to individuals who:

  • Are at least 21 years old (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher).

  • Have the legal capacity to consent to coaching services.

  • Are not participating under duress.

  • (Recommended) Have an established relationship with a licensed medical or mental health provider if considering any self-experimentation.

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services if safety concerns arise.

8. Contraindications & When to Seek Professional Care

If you have a history of severe mental illness (e.g., psychosis, schizophrenia spectrum, untreated bipolar I disorder), unstable medical conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or are taking medications with known dangerous interactions with serotonergic or MAOI-active substances, you must seek medical guidance before engaging any psychedelic or plant medicine work. We may request (but do not require in all cases) a letter of medical clearance; provision of such a letter does not shift liability to the Company.

9. Emergency & Crisis Limitations

The Psychedelic Life Plant Medicine Microdosing Coaching Program is not an emergency, suicide-prevention, or crisis response service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger:

You knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks.
