Participating in a regulated psilocybin journey under Oregon Measure 109 offers a safe, legally protected environment for deep emotional processing and personal discovery. However, the costs associated with licensed service center fees, specialized facilitators, and comprehensive group care can pose a real financial barrier for many individuals.
Accessibility is rooted in the belief that financial standing should never prevent someone from accessing safe, transformative care. As a nonprofit organization, we offer structured financial support to ensure that cost does not stand in the way of those seeking healing. Understanding how Oregon psilocybin scholarships work, who qualifies, and how to navigate the application process can help you take the first step toward joining our retreat with confidence.
The nonprofit ethos behind our scholarships
Healing work should not be shaped by extractive business incentives. We operate as a nonprofit because we do not have investors or shareholders, and nearly all of our operating budget comes directly from participant fees. Operating with this model allows us to protect the integrity of our work, prioritize client well-being over scale, and keep our focus entirely on safety and care.
Because our scholarships are not funded by outside donors or corporate sponsors, we personally absorb the cost of every scholarship offered. To maintain safety, intimacy, and a high standard of facilitation, our group retreats are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of eight participants per cohort.
To remain both sustainable and ethical, each retreat cohort offers up to one participant at a 25% scholarship and up to one participant at a 50% scholarship. Receiving financial aid never alters the depth or quality of care you receive, as every participant receives the exact same psilocybin support, facilitator attention, breathwork, preparation, and post-journey integration calls.

Payment plans vs. scholarships: Finding your right path
To keep scholarship funds open for those in acute financial need, we encourage applicants to evaluate whether a flexible payment plan might meet their needs before applying for a scholarship. Extended zero-interest payment plans are our preferred path toward financial accessibility. For participants who cannot pay tuition in a single lump sum, we offer extended plans over three months, six months, or longer for individuals on a fixed income or with demonstrated need. Payment plans allow you to manage your budget over time while keeping scholarship spots open for those without disposable income.
When assessing your financial situation, we use the Green Bottle sliding-scale framework. This model helps you look beyond basic monthly cash flow to self-assess your true financial capacity with honesty and care. Participants in the Full Bottle tier can comfortably pay full tuition with existing savings or discretionary income, which helps preserve accessibility spots for others. Those in the Half-Full Bottle tier can meet basic living needs like housing and healthcare, but paying full tuition at once creates temporary strain, making a multi-month payment plan ideal. Finally, the Nearly Empty Bottle tier reflects individuals experiencing significant financial hardship, living on a fixed income, or lacking financial reserves, which aligns directly with qualifications for scholarship support.

Who qualifies for psilocybin retreat financial aid?
Scholarships are designed specifically for individuals whose current financial circumstances prevent them from participating, even with an extended payment plan. We most often approve scholarship support for individuals living on a fixed income, receiving disability benefits, or navigating retirement.
It is also designed for those supporting dependents, caregiving for family members, coping with sudden financial destabilization from job loss, carrying significant medical expenses, or being impacted by systemic financial marginalization.
To maintain clarity and fairness across our community, scholarships are not discounts for convenience, marketing incentives, early-bird promos, negotiation tools, or entitlements. They exist solely as an accessibility bridge for those in genuine financial need.

External funding alternatives
If our internal scholarship slots for an upcoming cohort are already filled, external nonprofit organizations can provide additional assistance. The Sheri Eckert Foundation operates the Psilocybin Access Fund, which offers dedicated financial aid directly to individuals seeking legal psilocybin services in Oregon.
We recognize that access to wellness and healing care is not distributed evenly in society. By offering self-funded scholarships and flexible payment plans, we remain committed to making legal, regulated psilocybin journeys accessible without compromising safety, depth, or facilitator care.
